What is your favourite place in Amsterdam and why?

The Noordermarkt – a wonderful market that makes your heart beat faster: you can find the best fruit and vegetables from local farmers, beautiful cut flowers, cool vintage fashion, pottery, colourful balcony plants, freshly caught fish and delicious oysters from the North Sea, tangy cheese and, above all, delicious sourdough bread. So if you’re in town on a Saturday, you should definitely stop by here!

What is your favourite place in Amsterdam and why?

Definitely the Jordaan. Here you feel like you’re in a village in the middle of the city. There are small, cosy streets everywhere with great shops, bars and lots of good restaurants. You also have to experience the old-established “Jordanese”, a very special, friendly and funny bunch of people.

What is your favourite tour and why?

My favourite tour is the cultural Jordaan tour! It takes you through my absolute favourite district. Jordaan is where every visitor falls hopelessly in love with Amsterdam. There are small cafés right by the water, beautiful canals such as the Bloemgracht or Brouwersgracht, and small, quiet courtyards that are typical of this neighbourhood. I discover something new on every tour and can’t get enough of the idyllic flair of this former working-class neighbourhood.

What do you love most about Amsterdam?

I came to Amsterdam for love, so logically I love the Dutch themselves the most: funny, charming, open-minded.

What do you love most about Amsterdam?

As soon as the sun comes out, everyone sits on terraces or sets up little benches in front of their houses by the canal and enjoys themselves – pure joie de vivre.

What do you love most about Amsterdam?

The many wonderful friendships I have made in this cosmopolitan city. For example with Shari

What do you love most about Amsterdam?

I am particularly impressed by the friendliness of the people here. Here the glass is always half full instead of half empty, the people of Amsterdam can be described as very positive and life-affirming. I find it particularly charming that everyone says hello and goodbye to bus and tram drivers when using public transport 🙂

I love walking through small alleyways that feel like you’re in Harry Potter’s Diagon Alley.

What is your favourite tour and why?

My favourite tour is the food tour – on the one hand you have lots of interesting information and at the same time something between your cheeks. Win-win.

The Anne Frank Tour is my favourite tour. I think it’s great that she supports me during my tours. I always have the feeling that we are giving the tour together.

All tours with curious and warm guests are super nice. It’s the most fun to see that people enjoy discovering Amsterdam with me.

I love how Amsterdam welcomes diversity and everyone can be 100% themselves. I am very happy to call Amsterdam my home city.

What do you love most about Amsterdam?

That the city is the perfect size. It’s big enough to offer a wide range of cultural activities, but still small enough that you can cycle everywhere in 30 minutes.

What is your favourite place in Amsterdam and why?

My favourite place in Amsterdam is the many green areas such as the Flevopark in the east of the city – beautiful!

The Amsterdam Vliegenbos. Lush greenery, lots of trees and right behind it are small harbours and quaint houses.

What is your favourite tour and why?

I think the red light tour. I always enjoy bringing the topic of sex work to other people in a funny but also critical way.

What is your favourite place in Amsterdam and why?

Amsterdam has sooo many beautiful corners, but if I can only name one, it’s definitely the Jordaan neighbourhood! It’s a super authentic neighbourhood with great little shops, delicious cafés and beautiful canals.

What is your favourite place in Amsterdam and why?

My favourite place is actually anything by or on the water – almost the whole city. My favourite place is with a beer on a small canal away from the hustle and bustle!

The Noord neighbourhood is truly unique: it offers a mix of modern and cultural hotspots, such as the largest flea market in Europe, IJHallen, in a beautiful setting of nature and the IJ.

What is your favourite tour and why?

As a big foodie, the only correct answer is: the food tour! I really enjoy immersing myself in Amsterdam life and Dutch cuisine with visitors.

Alexander, City & Museum Guide

The northern cycle tour because it’s a really beautiful route and I just love cycling.

What is your favourite tour and why?

My favourite tour is the Van Gogh tour because it is a project close to my heart to raise awareness about mental health and break the taboo. Also, Van Gogh offers just the right mix, because despite all the tragedy of his life, he kept his sense of humour.

Charlotte, City & Museum Guide

What is your favourite tour and why?

My favourite tour is and remains the Anne Frank Tour, firstly because I find the story incredibly moving and tragic every time, and secondly because you get to interact with tour participants who often bring their own moving stories with them.

What is your favourite tour and why?

The Rembrandt tour! Because the most famous painter in the Netherlands not only led a very eventful life with many ups and downs, but also because many of the buildings that were important to him and his career are still preserved today. You can therefore follow in Rembrandt’s footsteps through the city and get to know Amsterdam and one of the greatest visual artists in art history from a completely new perspective.

Beate, City & Museum Guide

What is your favourite tour and why?

The cultural city centre tour is and remains my favourite tour. It is a successful mix of the most important historical events, paired with insights into the culture of the Dutch/Amsterdammers and rounded off with amusing anecdotes and culinary tips. In addition, interested participants help shape the tour each time by asking questions and making their own discoveries, which always makes the tour exciting and entertaining for me too.
