Then stroll along the typical crooked houses of the beautiful canals and cross the time-honored Spui Square to reach the pearl of Amsterdam’s city center through a hidden entrance: the Beguinage. After taking a look at the sublime landmark of the Jordaan district, the Westerkerk, on your way back to Dam Square you will see the river from which the city takes its name: the Amstel.
